The Cove, 402 N. Tennessee St., McKinney

In a vibrant dialogue between artist and student, experience and emergence, this exhibition pairs new, experimental works of Anne Royer with the deeply personal paintings of graduating senior Michelle Rodriguez. Royer’s paintings are both structured and spontaneous:  sprayed forms, layered glazes, and rhythmic patterns interact in playful tension, inviting viewers to explore the shifting boundaries between positive and negative space.

In contrast, Rodriguez’ artwork reflects her commitment to capture the intimate scenes of her life, from the tenderness of family to the memories of her international travels. Each canvas serves her purpose:  to encourage the world to love and appreciate each moment of life, no matter how small it may seem.
