Patrick Gessel

Digital Artist

Growing up in Wisconsin, Patrick Gessel was greatly influenced by Frank Lloyd Wright. Taliesin, Wright’s home and school, was located in Spring Green, about two hours from his home. Over the years Pat made numerous trips to admire Wright’s architecture.

In contrast to Wright’s Organic Architecture, Pat admired the work of Walter Gropius, Richard Neutra, and Marcel Breuer. The university he attended in Minnesota had many older traditional buildings that were contrasted by the powerful modern concrete architecture of Marcel Breuer. Breuer’s architecture, especially his famous Abby Church, inspired Pat daily as he walked to class.

Because of his background, Pat’s digital art conveys an abstract, geometrical, and often architectural theme.
