Gaurii S Kumaar is a multidisciplinary artist who explores the nature of belonging within the context of India’s traditional caste system and inheritance, viewed through the lens of Eastern narratives, astrology, and fate. Her artwork features abstract, iconographic fantastical landscapes that highlight these themes across contexts, such as rituals performed near bodies of water in India. She has received the Dallas Museum of Art Travel Grant and Nasher Sculpture Center Artist Grant Finalist in 2025. The exhibition will include work by some of Gaurii’s art students.
