“The Theater of the Mind” juxtaposes the works of two highly accomplished artists who explore the blurred boundaries of states of consciousness. Leo Malboeuf is a Surrealist painter (oils and digital media), and he is obsessed with creating images that are as unique as possible, many of them inspired by his dreams. Leo studied at the Worcester Art Museum and Rollins College (Florida), and has exhibited extensively in the northeast and Florida, including at the Alliance for the Arts (Fort Meyers) and the Naples Art Museum. Sharon O’Kane Schmeltzer’s paintings are visual metaphors of the inner self reacting to life, and are often developed at a semi-conscious level. After receiving her degree in Art Education from Northern Michigan University, she devoted her career to teaching art in the public arena to students from 4 to 82 years of age, while exhibiting extensively in the Midwest.
