Jeni Tomlinson grew up in McKinney, and as an artist she has focused on rendering images that evoke an emotional memory, an inner longing, with a hint of middle America. She posits her familiar subjects in challenging compositions marked by complex interactions of light and shadow, with saturated colors wrapped in a soft realism reminiscent of American painter Edward Hopper.
